We’ve been a trusted provider of residential and commercial construction services throughout Alaska for 30 years. Building Specialties Inc was established in Anchor Point, Alaska in 1996 by John Baker. John Baker ran Building Specialties Inc. until recent years as John’s son, Jacob Baker, has since taken the lead running Building Specialties Inc. to carry on the family business.

Building Specialties Incorporated was founded in 1996 by John Baker with a simple but powerful vision: to provide dependable construction solutions built on integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term strength. Over the years, Building Specialties Inc. has grown alongside the communities we serve, adapting to new challenges while staying true to the principles that built our foundation. Today, that legacy continues as Jacob Baker, John’s son, has taken over the business following his father’s retirement. Having grown up around the industry and the company, Jacob brings both a deep respect for its history and a forward-looking approach to its future. Under his leadership, Building Specialties Inc. remains firmly rooted in family values while embracing innovation, modern techniques, and the evolving needs of our clients.
